Contemplative Prayer 2019

Meets: 2nd Tuesday of each month at 11 am in St Martin's and on the 4th Thursday at 8 pm at 29, Hereford Cl;ose, Epsom

The aim of the Group is to teach and to practise 'listening prayer'. The method used is that set out by the Fellowship of Contemplative Prayer. The meetings are almost always in the Church itself. Anyone who would like an hour or so of led meditation or contemplation and silence based on one of the sayings of God from the Old Testament or one of Jesus in the New Testament is very welcome.

Tuesday, 12th February, at 11 am in St Martin's Church and Thursday, 28th February, at 29, Hereford Close.  We will be drawing on Psalm 50.12 and John 15.16 for this month - 'All is mine ... I have chosen you'.  As Jesus chose his disciples, he chooses us to form his 'body' on this earth.  We have the gifts to further his kindom and to glorify him.

Tuesday, 12th March, at 11 am in St Martin's Church and Thursday, 28th March, at 29 Hereford Close.  As Lent begins, we have the opportunity to consider the 'doors' of the Bible.  God may be asking us to consider what doors of opportunity are opening to us during this time.  In the midst of setbacks and challenges, we can find the door of hope that God promises.  Hosea 2.5: 'I will make the Valley ... a door of hope.'

At Wychcroft - Friday 17th May - Sunday 19th May, 2019
